Parallel Sliding Doors
Parallel sliding doors for wide openings to terraces or balconies. This opening solution is recommended for widths between 2 and 3.2 meters.
For openings up to two meters, a standard hinged door is often more practical. However, the parallel sliding door can be made with the same profiles used for classic windows, maintaining a consistent look throughout your home.
Configure NowThe parallel sliding solution is highly convenient, offering both a space-saving slide and a tilt function for secure ventilation.
The system features a perimeter seal around the sash for excellent insulation. One important detail to consider is the threshold: when the door is open, the bottom profile stands approximately 7cm high.
Unlike other systems, it cannot be recessed into the floor because the guide rail for the sash's load-bearing rollers is mounted directly on the lower profile of the frame.
To avoid a high bottom profile, you may want to consider the Lift-and-Slide system (HST), which offers a low-profile threshold of maximum 2cm.
However, the Lift-and-Slide system has a significantly higher cost due to its complex construction and a frame depth of approximately 16cm. The parallel slider, by contrast, is more cost-effective and can achieve widths up to 6 meters with a single frame in specific configurations.
Thanks to the internal hardware, both sliding and tilt (wasistas) openings are possible. The sash is pulled inward toward the house and then glides sideways with great ease. This allows for flexible ventilation without having a door wing swinging into the room.
